Privacy Policy - YouTube Playlist Progress Tracker

Data Collection & Storage

We believe in privacy by default. YouTube Playlist Progress Tracker does not collect, sell, or transmit any personal data to external servers.

Local Storage: All your progress data (video IDs, timestamps, completion status) is stored entirely on your device using `chrome.storage.local`.
Sync Storage: If enabled, we use Chrome's built-in Sync capabilities (`chrome.storage.sync`) to synchronize settings across your signed-in browsers. This data travels through Google's encrypted sync servers and is not accessible to us.

Permissions Explained

We only request permissions strictly necessary for the extension functionality:

storage

Required to save your playlist progress and settings locally.

scripting & activeTab

Used to read video titles, durations, and chapters from the YouTube page you are currently visiting.

host_permissions

Limited strictly to *://*.youtube.com/* to detect when you are watching a video.

No Tracking

We do NOT track your browsing history outside of YouTube. We do NOT use Google Analytics or any third-party telemetry services. Your usage data never leaves your browser.
